The purpose of this policy is to identify and clearly state the procedure regarding assessing the competencies of staff, the correct training procedures and records that must be maintained. The steps to be followed when organising and/or participating in learning and development activities, and the methods used for reviewing the effectiveness of training.
Training is an ongoing process for working with people to improve their performance, ensure ethical practice, enhance their potential and allows growth in knowledge and experience. NCU Training actively encourages its staff to participate in training and development, and it offers training opportunities to upskill people in the context of their jobs and in-line with their personal growth.
All learning and development courses will be evaluated to establish the appropriateness of the course to the end objective.
Both in-house and external courses are evaluated for their effectiveness. This information is discussed approximately two months after training between staff member and Manager, and this is entered into the training evaluation form.
